2007 Banjers Gathering

Dear fellow members and BMC friends,

Next year we'll enjoy our 3rd Banjers Gathering and BMC Meeting in the cities of Einkhoven and Medemblik, within the coasts of the Ijselmeer, Holland.

A new ocasion to meet old friends, visit other member's Banjers, chat around, taste warming drinks and, generally speaking, enjoying life, which is one of the main 'reasons to be' of our Club. Salty members, newcomers and even friends maybe looking for their own Banjer, will have here an excellent opportuinity to have a close look to all details and solutions the creativeness and ingenuity of owners has achieved with the passing of time.

Don't miss this opportunity. Even if you are in far away waters, coming to Holland in summer time is a most rewarding experience and the ocasion of bringing together a dozen or more Banjers, only happens every third year. And it's good to see each other's faces from time to time, as mostly relationship between fellow members is done by e-mail only.

Take your time, organize yourself and join the Gathering! We'll be waiting for you!

Keep on Banjering.

The Board.

We'll try to be careful with the choosen providers, but this is not a guarantee. Please inform me if some of you find an specific provider who does not fulfill the expentacies.

I hope this service may be useful to some of you.

Keep on Banjering,

Commodore Guillermo.

2007 Meeting and Gathering

Some underground movements have become to take place regarding 200 Banjers Gathering and BMC Meeting. Whispering words talk about alternative locations: Antwerp, Holland? Dover in the UK? Dunkirk, France....?

Other windy words talk about a desirable Banjers two days Rally, where crews can show up their great handling and navigating skills...

Why don't you let us know about your feelings and ideas?

Let us know!

Secretary's computer problems

Unfortunately the editing and publishing of the CD will be once again delayed, now owning to odds. Oscar Alstede's computer with all BMC data has been infected by a virus, and information seems to have been lost. He will try to download all info from his personal web pages and BMC web pages and remake the thing. He talks about four weeks hard work for it, but it will probably be much more, as there is a lot of stuff...

Let's keep on being patient once again.

The Commodore.

Banjers List, and more...

Banjers List, with hull numbers, year of production, etc., has been updated at the private pages. We'd appreciate the collaboration of members to keep it as most updated as possible. Please visit the page and tell me about your Banjer data missing, if some.

If you do not know the hull number and production year, because there is not a plaquette by the side of the helman's position, maybe you can find a Lloyd's hull registering plaquette (Eista produced boats). It should be located astern, moulded in the hull laminate inside the helm's stock lazarette, on the starboard side.

Thanks in advance.

The Commodore.

News from our Secretary, regarding the CD:

Our Secretary is working hard in making the CD with all BMC available data about Banjers. You can have a look to the first approach of the CD cover in: http://www.banjer.nl/scan0001.jpg

We expect to have the CD ready and available to members by the end of November (hopefully!). You can have a look at the progress in: http://www.banjer.nl/About%20Banjer%20CD.htm

If you are a member interested in getting a copy, please contact our Treasurer, Ton Koot, to put your name in the list. This will help us to determine the number of copies required.

We ask BMC members to contact the Secretary or the Treasurer, to actualize their home addresses, etc., to allow for the CD having the most accurate data.

The BMC Board of Directors.
